People Who Tried To Get With Beyonce

Beyonce has claimed that her husband, Jay-Z, is the first person to get to crush her. That’s not for lack of trying from the rest of the world. Guys tried to get with her from the moment she hopped on the scene. So let’s take a look at some guys who tried to give Bey the biz. Mos Def -   He tried to get with Bey when they filmed Carmen together for MTV. Didn’t quite work out for him. Lyndell Locke -   He was Bey’s first love and probably crying himself to sleep right now. But she still didn’t give him the nook nook…or so she says. Sean Paul -   They had that song together and people swore they were getting it in. But Paul denied it back in 2011. But it’s still possible they were a thing. Marques Houston -   He alluded to dating Beyonce back when he was 17, but he’s backed down from it. You think the Illuminati is…nevermind. Justin Timberlake -   There was a rumor back in the day that they made out in a club one night but it hasn’t been confirmed. Awkwarrrrd.

Before 100 yrs celebration Chris Okotie says

The year 1914 has a dual significance for the world and Nigeria. For the world because it marked the beginning of the First World War and for our nation because it was the year of the amalgamation of the Colony of Lagos with the Protectorates of Southern and Northern Nigeria to form one Nigeria as we are today. We may not know how much importance the world attaches to a World War that is fast vanishing in our memory, but Nigerians do recognise that 1914 was the year of our “creation” as a country by the British colonial masters. The name Nigeria was suggested by Flora Shaw, mistress of our first Governor-General, Lord Frederick Lugard, in 1898.  Flora of course would later become Lugard’s wife. Already, to celebrate this milestone in January next year, the Federal Government has set up a committee to coordinate what promises to be a huge event. A centenary in the life of any nation is a major landmark. The fact that our nation survived all the vicissitudes of existence; includ

Gbenga on APC what they stand for

Permit me to start this piece by congratulating the principals of the opposition parties that have taken the huge step in announcing their merger and the creation of a new party, the All Progressive Congress (APC). If you have ever had to negotiate a major business deal or head a team of people with different backgrounds, ideologies and goals, you’ll understand how much of a task it must have been to get a former military president, two former governors and a sitting governor amongst other personalities to agree on a document that satisfies everyone. The personal sacrifice that these men have made is monumental and deserves mention and praise. I salute them. Now, since the annoucement of the merger, there has been so much discussion and debate, online and off it, about how the new party will look like. The uncertainties surrounding the APC are not helped a few unresolved issues: the absence of a party logo, the non existence of a manifesto, APGA’s internal crisis, amongst others

Game of Throne S3

After months of teases for the 3rd season of Game of Thrones, the HBO drama has blessed the net with the first proper trailer for the upcoming return. The 1minute spot touches on all of the key characters -- and while Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) and Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) may get the most exciting voice overs, it's Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) that seems to steal the show. After two seasons on the outs, the Khaleesi has a formidable army and maturing dragons. Season three introduces the surviving characters with a slew of newcomers including the "King Beyond the Wall" Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds), Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg), Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully (Clive Russell) and Jojen and Meera Reed (Thomas Brodie-Sangsterand Ellie Kendrick).

Defense Contractor Fired Worker For Voting For Obama, Lawsuit Claims

A southwest Ohio woman who says that she was fired because she  voted for President Barack Obama  filed a lawsuit against her former employer. Patricia Kunkle's lawsuit accuses Dayton-based defense contractor  Q-Mark Inc. and its president of telling employees that if Obama was re-elected, then his supporters would be the first to be fired, reports  the Dayton Daily News . Brian Wildermuth, an attorney for the company president, said in a statement that Kunkle was laid off for economic reasons -- "nothing more." "I am sure you and your readers are familiar with the ongoing uncertainties regarding defense spending , and thus the economic environment confronting defense contractors," he said. "The allegation that Q-Mark discharged Ms. Kunkle because of her vote is simply false." Kunkle, of Kettering, has an unlisted phone number and her Dayton attorney didn't immediately respond to a request to speak with her. The lawsuit, filed in  Mo

Penny Winters Caught Stealing Cookies

Some people find it tempting to be around junk food and can't resist eating it. But in the case of Penny Winters, a 63-year-old maintenance worker, Walmart sees that as a criminal offense. Winters allegedly was caught by the store's surveillance cameras eating Oreos that she hadn't paid for during her evening shifts at a Walmart in Portage, Ind. In response, Walmart Stores Inc. notified police and Winters was charged with felony theft, which could result in jail time for the woman described by Chicago TV station   WBBM   as the "Oreo Grandma."   According to the report obtained by   TheSmokingGun.com , winters confessed to authorities that she had stolen cookies at the store in Portage, a city of 36,000 on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. And she's reportedly conceded that she's been eating -- and not paying for -- Oreos, gum and potato chips for more than eight years while working night shifts for Walmart. (The first seven years were spent a
