A 34-year-old man, Arogundade Ahmed, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly flogging his son to death. According to eyewitnesses, Arogundade tortured his 13-year-old son, Qudus, to death because Qudus broke into someone's house and attempted to steal. Arogundade was said to have killed his son in the presence of his little sister, Sherifat. This is delightful news. Two Nigerians have won the prestigious Caine Prize for African Writing two years in a row.  Last year, Nigerian writer, Rotimi Babatunde, won the prize for his story Bombay's Republic - a book about Nigerian soldiers who fought in the Burma campaign during World War II. And this year, another Nigerian has won. His name is Tope Folarin, a US-based writer. He won the prize for his story - Miracle - a short story set in an evangelical Nigerian church in Texas.  Tope, who was shortlisted with three other Nigerians and a Sierra Leonean for the prize, received $15,000 at an event that held at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.  Read the shortlisted stories here! A 22-Year Old student has been arrested by the police for allegedly offering his 21-year-old girlfriend for sale at GH₵8, 000 for ‘’money ritual". Samuel Dadson, a resident of Kumasi, was said to have lured his girlfriend to Accra for a business transaction, but was arrested by the police who were waiting for him at VIP bus terminal. Briefing the media in Accra yesterday, the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno said in June last year, Dadson met a taxi driver in Accra and through conversation, he expressed the desire for someone to assist him get rich through money rituals, ‘Sakawa’. The driver told Dadson that he had heard rumours of a fetish priest at Weija, near Accra, who engaged in such acts. The money was transferred to OJB's account on Friday July 5th. Lagos State governor, Raji Fashola was also in touch with OJB's family and facilitated the stages of dialysis OJB is undergoing at LASUTH. The ailing pioneer music producer has thanked Governor Amaechi for his generosity. "I really thank God for Governor Amechi's kind heart. A 35-year old bus driver, Adewale Adeleke has been arrested by the police for defiling his two daughters. The little girls alleged that their father has been having sex with them for two years. The incident occurred in Ikotun, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos, southwest  Nigeria.Adeleke was arrested and detained at the Ikotun Police Station over the act. His two daughters, who were in tears, confessed that their father had been sleeping with them since 2011 without the knowledge of their mother who separated from their father last year. The girls are 13 and 10 years old. The eldest of them (name withheld) alleged that their father started sleeping with her when she was 11 years and her sibling when she was eight years old and that it was her father who deflowered her. "Our father sleeps with us frequently. The first time he slept with me, I saw blood coming out of my private part and he used singlet to clean me up," she alleged.
