Google Maps Becomes the Most Used Mobile App on Earth

Business Week Remember a little thing called Apple Maps, Apple's so-called 'Google Maps-killer'? Yeah, turns out a lot of other people don't either. Google Maps is not just king of the map apps, but of all apps: according to new data from GlobalWebIndex , Google Maps beats out Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Twitter, Skype and Instagram as the most frequently used app for the second quarter of 2013. Facebook currently brings in 44 percent of users, YouTube at 35 percent, and Google+ with 30 percent of smartphone users. Apple Maps didn't even crack the top 10 (to be fair, it's not available for Android users), but you can expect someone over at Apple being pretty ticked off at the news that Google Maps is doing so well. Get Google Maps for iOS here , and Android users here . Chances are you already have it.

BlackBerry's venerable messaging platform to hit Samsung's devices. Would a cross-platform version of BlackBerry Messenger benefit RIM? Apparently the wait is about to end, at least for owners of Samsung Galaxy phones. A new report from the folks at N4BB claims that Samsung has officially committed to the messaging app. Specifically, BBM addicts will be able to download BlackBerry Messenger software via the Google Play store "soon." With BBM, Galaxy users will have access to their BBM accounts, including BBM chats and BBM Groups. It also appears that BBM functionality will be integrated in Samsung devices through a Samsung messaging hub. Whether this means Sammy customers will be treated to a UI similar to the BlackBerry Hub, basically a unified inbox on steroids, remains to be seen. Frankly it's one the best feature

We have seen lots of people speak about a player that is not theirs and we are due some respect. “These rumours of an imminent transfer are not true. The only thing we have communicated with Real Madrid is that he is our player and he is not for sale. “Gareth is a guy I really like. We are ta

2015: Obasanjo has no say – Asari-Dokubo

Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPF, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has accused the four northern governors who visited the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, of playing sectional politics. The four northern Governors who had earlier visited the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, also met with former Heads of state, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar in Minna. Describing the visit as “a wasteful venture”, Dokubo said, no matter the gang-up against the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan, he will emerge victorious. According to him, Obasanjo no longer has the clout to influence or dictate national politics, saying he cannot decide what will happen in the 2015 election. The ex-militant leader in an interview with Sunday Independent, asked “Where were those four Governors when Obasanjo was President of Nigeria for eight years? “I agree that Obasanjo helped in contributing to the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as president, the Ijaws
