Juan Mata’s decisive strike at Manchester United at the weekend means Chelsea can all but guarantee Champions League qualification by beating fifth-place Tottenham Hotspur at home on Wednesday. The Stamford Bridge showdown looked destined to be a straight shootout for a top-four place until Mata struck with three minutes remaining at Old Trafford on Sunday to give Chelsea a precious 1-0 victory. The Spaniard’s goal, via a telling deflection off Phil Jones, lifted Chelsea three points above Spurs and means they will be virtually guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League if they defeat their London rivals. The win over United was Chelsea’s 65th game of the season, but with Champions League qualification at stake and a Europa League final against Benfica still to come, Mata says there is simply not enough time for mental fatigue to creep in.

LAGOS — Controversy currently trails the parenthood of  five-month-old twins who were presented at the United States of America’s embassy by their supposed parents for the procurement of visa. This follows result of a DNA test ordered by the embassy which reports showed that the couple were not the biological parents of the twins as claimed. Consequently, the couple have been arrested and are being interrogated at the Special Fraud Unit, SFU Milverton, for alleged child-trafficking.

Amanda Bynes is coming clean -- but not about her behavior. The 27-year-old has taken to Twitter to reveal that she did, in fact, have a nose job several years ago. Bynes says that she hates when media outlets use old photos of her, gushing, "I look so much prettier in my new photos." "Intouch used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I've asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don't look like that anymore! I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes.
