MICROSOFT CHANGES MINDS

Microsoft is preparing to revive the traditional Start button it killed with Windows 8. Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans have revealed to  The Verge  that Windows 8.1 will include the return of the Start button. We understand that the button will act as a method to simply access the Start Screen, and will not include the traditional Start Menu. The button is said to look near-identical to the existing Windows flag used in the Charm bar. MICROSOFT CHANGES ITS MIND Microsoft's change of heart follows another recent planned change for Windows 8.1:  a boot to desktop option . We understand Microsoft will add an option to allow users to boot directly to the traditional desktop environment in future builds of the upcoming Windows 8 upgrade. Most internal builds of Windows 8.1 do not include the Start button or boot to desktop options, but Microsoft is said to be planning how to add these into the operating system.  ZDNet's  Mary Jo Foley  previously reported on Micr

5-8 Million iPhones returned by iPhone Due To Quality Issues

According to a new report, Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has been having tons of trouble with the iPhone 5’s production methods. Apple described its very complex manufacturing process when the iPhone 5 was first unveiled last fall. While the beautiful design of the device has definitely paid off, Foxconn continues to have issues with its production. “Foxconn has apparently botched a batch of iPhones, which Apple returned to the contract manufacturer because they were not fit for sale. Details of just what went wrong are sketchy, as the source for this tale is an anonymous Foxconn staffer chatting to  China Business . That report, after being forced through a couple of translation engines, suggests Apple sent back at least five million iPhones, and maybe as many as eight million, “due to appearance of substandard or dysfunctional problems.” If the report holds any truth to it, this is definitely a lose-lose situation. With each phone costing around $200 to produce, a wh

ALWAYS BE THANKFUL

A blind boy Chris sat on the steps of a building with an empty cup by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the empty cup. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the cup began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you wrote?" The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it." QUESTION: Do you think the first sign and the second sign

SUAREZ A VAMPIRE ON THE FIELD

Best and worst of Liverpool’s Luis Suarez in game against Chelsea at Anfield. Liverpool forward Luis Suarez showcased the very best of his game against Chelsea, with a fine assist for Daniel Sturridge’s goal, a goal of his own in injury time to salvage a point for the Reds, and penetrative running and incisive skill throughout. His display certainly illustrated just why he is one of the best players in the Premier League. However, the Uruguayan’s dark side was also in evidence, and it was shocking to see him bite into Branislav Ivanovic’s arm after losing the ball. It was the second such incident in Suarez’s career, having previously bitten PSV star Otman Bakkal. Watch a video of the bite against Chelsea below.

How To Break Bad Habits Brought On By Stress

I used to notice that there are so many Bad habits that we inhibit when we where young till we grow up, but this could help us break them  Picking at your nails. Chewing your hair. Cracking your knuckles. Are you guilty of any of these? They're "bad" habits" -- things we all do without thinking about it, that are probably annoying to everyone around us. Some are more innocuous -- who's  really  hurt when we clench our jaws, anyway? -- while others are more harmful -- smoking, we're looking at you. And while the triggers can vary from habit to habit and person to person, a lot of the time, we do them because of -- you guessed it -- stress. "Stress and anxiety kind of scramble the brain a bit so we're not able to pay attention the way we need to to keep ourselves from doing things," says Heidi Grant Halvorson, Ph.D., a motivational psychologist, author and  HuffPost blogger . That's because a habit is a habit -- we become conditioned

5 Things You Don't Know About Your Brain: A Conversation With Neuroscientist Rafael Yuste

Earlier this month, President Obama announced a proposal to fully map the activity of the human brain. The initiative would aim to better understand both the brain and the often-mystifying conditions that affect it, including Alzheimer's, autism and stroke, among others,  the Associated Press reported at the time . "As humans we can identify galaxies light-years away," Obama told a group of scientists at the White House for his announcement,  according to the AP . "We can study particles smaller than an atom, but we still haven't unlocked the mystery of the three pounds of matter that sits between our ears." One of the key players behind the scenes of this brain-mapping plan is Rafael Yuste, a professor of biological sciences at Columbia University, whose work is credited with helping to launch the project. Yuste presented at the opening night of the 2013 TEDMED conference in Washington D.C. this week. Despite criticisms that his goal is an imposs

Boston Bomber Suspects Had Attended Cambridge Mosque, Officials Say

A mosque in Cambridge, Mass., confirmed Saturday that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Chechen-born brothers suspected in the Boston marathon attacks, infrequently attended services at the small center that was a 10-minute walk from their apartment. "In their visits, they never exhibited any violent sentiments or behavior. Otherwise they would have been immediately reported to the FBI," said the statement from the Islamic Center of Boston . "After we learned of their identities, we encouraged anyone who knew them in our congregation to immediate report to law enforcement, which has taken place." Anwar Kazmi, a member of the mosque's board of trustees, told a  USA Today  reporter that 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who died early Friday morning after a shootout with police, was an infrequent attendee for about a year-and-a-half, while 19-year-old Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, who was captured hiding in a boat in Watertown on Friday night, attended only

Kidnappers release Bamigbetan

There are indications that the Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Authority, Kehinde Bamigbetan, who was kidnapped last Monday, might have been released on Saturday. Although his abductors had reportedly demanded $1m (about N155m), it was not clear if ransom was paid to secure his release. An online news portal,  Premium Times , reports that the Head of Information Unit of the council, Mr. Rabiu Hassan, confirmed the release. The council chairman was kidnapped near his house in Ejigbo around 11p.m. When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer, Damascus Ozoani, said he was not aware that Bamgbetan had been rereleased. When our correspondent contacted Hassan for more confirmation, his phone was switched off. Also, a local government chairman in the state, who preferred anonymity, said he was not sure if Bamigbetan had been released. “What we heard was that he had been released but as I am talking to you, nobody is sure. We are yet to see anybody t

Facebook has hired the manager who led the development of Apple's widely criticized Maps app.

Richard Williamson joined the social network as its director of engineering this month, according to his LinkedIn profile. Bloomberg reported Wednesday that he has been at Facebook for the past few weeks. Last November, Williamson was fired by Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice-president of Internet software and services, following numerous user complaints that Maps had major bugs. When it launched last September with iOS 6, the app's problems included: omitting transit directions, providing poor navigation and displaying incomplete 3D views that distorted national monuments. Many compared Maps unfavorably to Google Maps, which was replaced by Apple's in-house mapping service, but later reinstated. Williamson began working at Apple as a senior software engineer in 2001, and took over as the director of iOS software four years later. In January 2012, he became the senior director of iOS platform services, overseeing the creation of Apple Maps. Facebook's new director

Black Menu (computer tricks)

Black Menu for Chrome puts all your Google services a click away If you rely heavily on Google services, as so many small-business users do these days, you're probably familiar with the black toolbar that spans the top of various Google services. It provides quick and convenient access to apps like Search, Gmail, Calendar, and so on. Ah, but what happens when you're viewing a non-Google site? No toolbar, that's what. Black Menu for Chrome puts all Google services just a click away. Once installed, this extension adds a button to your browser that reveals an attractive drop-down menu for all Google's best stuff: Search, Google+, Translate, Maps, Gmail, Calendar, and the like. Even better, when you mouse over any of these items, you get an interactive window for using them. For example, mouse over Search and you've got a Google Search field ready for your terms. Mouse over Gmail and you'll see your inbox, where you can read and respond to messages, com

what really happened @ OVERCOMERS CHURCH WORLD OUTREACH ( GRACE AND FAITH MINISTRY)

There has been so many comments on lindaikeji.blogspot.com which I must say are peoples view or just an automated content posted by them, anyway let’s leave that to them. I just don’t understand why people don’t ask some questions before making judgments on their own, they make comments as if na dem they the place wey the thing happen. None of the people that made comment on that blog has seen both parties not even been to the church that was said and even Linda herself posted what she doesn’t know about the issue and said that Chika Moses said so as their Media Representative. One thing I know is that Men are very deceitful but there are still questions that needs to be answered, which nobody is asking am not in the position to point fingers at whoever is or is not to blame. But I will first think that Solomon Akiyesi is a man without integrity and a stupid one for that matter, also the wife who decided to come all the way from Port-Harcourt and fight in the church with police men
