OBJ no dey laugh oooh

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo probably had a premonition that he and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be roundly routed in last Saturday’s election into the National Assembly in Ogun State, by the burgeoning Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) which clinched all the three senatorial seats and most of the federal constituencies’ seats in the state.
When he was sarcastically asked by a reporter if he was still laughing when he came for accreditation at the Ita-Eko Ward 11 polling booth 1 near his Abeokuta family house at about 11am on election day, Obasanjo calmly answered, “You can’t say everything is a laughing matter the way I said I dey laugh o, because it is a serious matter now”.
The election results turned out not to be a laughing matter for Obasanjo, who lost not only in his polling unit but also in his entire ward. His daughter Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello lost her bid to retain the Ogun Central Senatorial seat while the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole also lost the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency seat.
Perhaps PDP would have emerged victorious in the state if the pre-election crisis foisted on it apparently by Obasanjo was resolved amicably before the poll. Obasanjo had fought a tough supremacy battle with Governor Gbenga Daniel who had to leave the PDP with his supporters to the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), which the governor had earlier registered with INEC as a fallback.
If, for instance, the 46,148 votes polled by the PPN in the Ogun East Senatorial District is added to the 52,613 garnered by the PDP in the district, both scores would have amounted to 98,761 votes, above ACN’s winning margin of 76,543.
Now, the possibility of Daniel and Obasanjo reconciling and collaborating to ensure victory for the PDP in subsequent elections in the state is very remote. Both Obasanjo and the PDP governorship candidate, Gen. Adetunji Olurin have vowed to ensure that Daniel is jailed for alleged misappropriation of funds after his tenure.
If the fight continues, PDP would most likely lose the subsequent elections and Obasanjo would have no cause to laugh.

Wikimedia Commons It's more than halfway through 2013 and even though the summer is winding down, there's still plenty of time to book a trip to a great destination. We looked at major developments, cultural trends, and global festivals to find the hottest places to travel around the world in 2013. Samsung reportedly close to releasing Glass competitor — and Google’s involved

This one is definitely a rumor, but its source is reliable enough to warrant a little speculation. Analyst and blogger  Eldar Murtazin  tweeted a rather definite message this week that Samsung is “developing [its] own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around April – May under Gear Glass brand.” Given that Google’s own version of Glass is not expected to hit the mass market until early 2014, Samsung’s Glass competitor could very well race Google’s to market. That might seem like a nightmare for Google, which has invested heavily in Glass and is no doubt planning for a strong event launch, but as was pointed out in a CNet article, the use of the word “Glass” implies an official partnership. Samsung is known for its aggressive branding and Google would likely raise legal concerns regardless, so it’s unlikely the brand Gear Glass would be used without a partnership. Does Google even want to sell Glass, or does it just want you wearing face-screens? If Goog
