FRAUD Alert from FUOYE, please read!

Below is a fraud alert notice placed by the management of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti in their website. Myschoolcomm wish to inform all Nigerian students about this development. Read the full message below in quote.

DISCLAIMER ALERT!!!

It has been brought to our attention that Fraudsters claiming to represent Federal University Oye-Ekiti, are sending text messages to defraud people about admission. A sample of such SMS is written below:

"Congratulaions you have been admitted at FUOYE, kindly proceed to pay your acceptance fee, it ends on 13th, Aug 2012. Acc name: VTNETWORK, acct no: 0056241847, EcoBank, Amount: 20,000, Send ur full name, Teller No and branch of payment to: 07030182222, call the No here to any details".

This is to notify the General Public to disregard any of such information as it does not emanate from the University.
Kindly also take not that http://fuoye.edu.ng is the official and only University website! ANY INFORMATION gotten from other websites that is not linked from our main university website is INVALID!

Microsoft Is About To Leave One-Third Of All Computers Vulnerable To Hacking

Hundreds of millions of computers running everything from ATMs to the power grid will be vulnerable to hacking next month when Microsoft stops supporting its old Windows XP operating system. Hackers have been holding onto flaws in Windows XP and waiting to exploit them until after the software giant stops issuing security updates on April 8, experts say. Adam Meyers, vice president of intelligence at Crowdstrike, a cybersecurity firm, said it was “fairly dangerous” to continue using the 12-year-old operating system because after the deadline “victims can’t defend themselves.” “I certainly wouldn't run Windows XP after the 8th," Meyers said in an interview. President Goodluck Jonathan Sets-Up Amnesty Committee For Boko-Haram

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the constitution of a Presidential Committee to "constructively engage key members of Boko Haram and define a comprehensive and workable framework for resolving the crisis of insecurity in the country." Announcing the setting up of the committee, a statement by Dr Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity stated that the committee's terms of reference will include: -Developing a framework for the granting of amnesty -Setting up of a framework through which disarmament could take place within a 60-day time frame -Development of a comprehensive victims' support programme -Development of mechanisms to address the underlying causes of insurgencies that will help to prevent future occurrences.
