AKPOS was hungry and went to ‘mai
shayi’ (men selling tea and bread). The
following transpired between Akpos and the
mai shayi.
AKPOS: u get loaf of bread?
ABOKI: yes
AKPOS: bring one; slice am into two and put two
sachet of butter in between.
ABOKI: happy and thanking God for bringing
customer, was just doing as he was ordered
AKPOS: u get egg?
ABOKI: yes sire
AKPOS: fry six and put am in between the bread.
ABOKI: okay sire
AKPOS:u get sadin 4 inside gongoni?
ABOKI: yes sire, everyting dey.
AKPOS: put two gongoni inside the bread.
ABOKI: okay customer (happy and doing as
he was told, in his mind he will make a lot of
money that day)
AKPOS: u don finish ? oya press the bread for
me.
ABOKI: see am sire, I don prepare am
finish.
AKPOS: . . . OYA CUT TEN NAIRA OWN FOR ME,
cos I dey hurry!

Police Introduce Biometric Vehicle Registration

The Police said the introduction of a new Biometric Central Motor Registration (BCMR) is designed to fight terrorism, Kidnapping and car theft in the country. Police force spokesman CSP Frank Mba made this known at a press briefing in Abuja yesterday. He said the registration take effect from Monday next week and would involve the registration processes of vehicles, tricycles and auto-bikes from the analogue to the new system. He argued that the decision informing the introduction of the new process was against the backdrop of contemporary security challenges bordering on terrorism, high incidence of car theft, carjacking, kidnappings and other crimes. Mba said unlike the analogue procedure, the new method operate on smart-cards and portable hand-held receiver and is a specially developed technological means of attaching automobile owner's unique traits and personal data to their vehicles for proper identification and protection purposes.
