Ebonyi Police rescues kidnapped youths corps member

A serving member of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC who was kidnapped last week in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State has been rescued by the Nigerian police.

The Ebonyi State Public Relations Officer, DSP Sylvester Igbo, who disclosed this to newsmen in Ebonyi state stated that the timely report of the incident at the Command was what ensured the speedy rescue of the victim and her car.

"At about 7:30 pm, one Dr. Chiagozie Onuoha Bibiana, a medical Corper attached to the Civil Service Clinic, Abakaliki was at Mile 50 kidnapped in her Honda accord car by four armed men and taken into Umuoghara bush at Ezza North LGA.

"They placed a demand of 20 million naira on the victim. The speedy report of the incident to the police enabled the police to Quickly swing into action.

"When they couldn't bear with the pressure from the Police and seeing that the police were closing down on them, they abandoned the victim and took to their heels.

"The Honda accord car of the victim was recovered, while the victim was rescued on 29th March, at exactly 9pm without paying any kobo.



"The rescue was also possible because of the reinvigorated strategies put in place by the Command to check the commission of heinous crimes in the state. The trail of the fleeing suspects is being intensified and without doubt they will soon be arrested.

"I solicit for the cooperation of the members of the public for information that will help us in our duty", he pleaded.

The kidnap victim, a graduate of medicine attached to Civil Service Clinic, Abakaliki was kidnapped in her Honda Accord car and taken into a bush in Umuoghara, Ezza North Local government area of the state, where a demand of N20 million was made by her abductors.

Samsung reportedly close to releasing Glass competitor — and Google’s involved

This one is definitely a rumor, but its source is reliable enough to warrant a little speculation. Analyst and blogger  Eldar Murtazin  tweeted a rather definite message this week that Samsung is “developing [its] own version of Google Glass.
