Streaming Music another level for Nigerian Musicians

If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,The appetite may sicken, and so die. Duke Orsino there in shakespeares’ twelfth night  asking for an overabundance of music so that it would cure his obsession with Olivia another act in the play.Orsino is fed up with his courtship and thinks that music would cure it just like how food cures your appetite. He is not far from the truth as music being as old as man is powerful, therapeutic and in fact music in whatever form gets us sentational so there is hardly anyone who does not like a particular form of song or another.
And with advances in technology you can almost play music anytime and anywhere in the world if you so desire, from the powerful home theatres to our computers, portable media players like the ipods and of course other personal digital assistants like the mobile phones all help us stay in tune with trends in the global an local music industry
This generation has taken to the internet for nearly everything from learning to communication, health to business and music is not left out. Research has shown that streaming music is the fastest-growing sector of the industry, overtaking downloads.
Strategy Analytics a UK based firm forecast that spending on digital music – including downloads, streaming music and mobile sales – would overtake that of physical products like CDs in 2015,With Music streaming services expected to be huge drivers of the growth. And in the US the Billboard Hot 100, is for the first time including YouTube streaming data in the methodology used to make up the chart. Viral hits are featuring prominently with the recent flavour of the moment, the Harlem Shake, becoming only the 21st song since the chart’s launch in 1958 to go straight to the top spot.
While often difficult, it is never entirely impossible to make a sustainable living as a musician these days. The internet offers one of the ways that musicians can potentially earn money in today’s music space – demonstrating the multitude of revenue streams that today’s working musician must keep into account when venturing off into the world as an independent musician.
Clearly the world is changing and our expectations of our music and how we access our favourite songs are different than a few years. Streaming music has become the fastest-growing sector in the music industry and Nigerian artistes should not be left out of the rave, the service is for the old and the contemporary artistes. All that is required is an agreement with the platform on which your song will roll on royalty payment

Samsung reportedly close to releasing Glass competitor — and Google’s involved

This one is definitely a rumor, but its source is reliable enough to warrant a little speculation. Analyst and blogger  Eldar Murtazin  tweeted a rather definite message this week that Samsung is “developing [its] own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around April – May under Gear Glass brand.” Given that Google’s own version of Glass is not expected to hit the mass market until early 2014, Samsung’s Glass competitor could very well race Google’s to market. That might seem like a nightmare for Google, which has invested heavily in Glass and is no doubt planning for a strong event launch, but as was pointed out in a CNet article, the use of the word “Glass” implies an official partnership. Does Google even want to sell Glass, or does it just want you wearing face-screens? ...
