Police in Philadelphia are looking for a 21-year old man who shot up a strip club with an assault rifle. They say that Henry Pettigrew is responsible for firing off his gun in the Purple Orchid Genteman’s Club after getting into an argument with the bouncers.
According to witnesses, Pettigrew became angry that the DJ wouldn’t play his song.
When the bouncers tried to put him out, Pettigrew got even more upset and attacked a customer that he thought was a bouncer. When the man tried to get away in his SUV, Pettigrew shot at him with an AK-47 and hit him in his right hip.
“Fortunately where it hit him, it hit the flesh of his body and it didn’t hit any vital organs,” Lt. Johnny Walker of the Philadelphia Police Department said.
Surveillance shows the man trying to get back into the club, but falling down because he was drunk. He then started to shoot everywhere.
“Just wildly, obviously with an AK-47 with a banana clip, it can fire multiple rounds at a high rate of speed very quickly,” Walker said.
When he went toward the bar with the gun, the DJ ducked for cover.
“You see one of the bullets actually strike the mirror right where [the DJ's] head would have been, so we’re very fortunate the person did not get struck by the gunfire,” Walker said.
A number of employees with the establishment have quit their jobs out of fear for their own safety.
