American Vogue, you tease. When we learned back in April that the fashion magazine to end all fashion magazines might feature Katy Perry on its hallowed cover, we practically lit fireworks in her honor.
Vogue debuted Katy's July cover on their website today... and little else. The mag writes that the photo was shot by none other than Vogue fave Annie Leibovitz, and provided a teeny tease on the accompanying article, which we can't read until next Tuesday:
Congratulations, Katy! Better whip out that Dolce & Gabbana crown from the Met Gala, girl -- you've earned it.

Katy's Rodarte-outfitted cover certainly shows a leap in maturity of sorts, as she's previously been featured on the brand's more junior Teen Vogue. Showcasing a performer follows magazines' recent trend of featuring non-models on their glossiest page. Though the question remains: Do singers sell well on newsstands?
