Stop harassing celebrities for funds, actress Juliet Ibrahim tells OJB handlers

Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has lashed out at the handlers of ailing producer, singer and song writer OJB Jezreel asking them ‘to reach out to the right people and stop harassing celebrities for funds’.

OJB has been diagnosed with kidney failure and has made a passionate appeal to the general public to help him raise the $100, 000 (approx 16 million naira) needed for a kidney transplant.

Her statements has been met with mixed reactions from the public.

Meanwhile, more and more celebrities have continued to reach out to the ailing singer as pop twins PSquare and their elder brother Jude Engees Okoye donated five million naira. Also Kukere master Iyanya and his manager Ubi Franklin have donated 1 million naira. Don Jazzy, Mercy Johnson and Rugged Man have already made their donations to OJB.

The singer had earlier granted an interview stating that his appeal for help is not directed to any one particular group of personalities.

“It’s not like people are coming there and making 50 billion naira donations. People have brought in 100 naira, 1,000 naira and I appreciate this. If you’ve seen me in the past ten years, you’ll know it’s not the same OJB you knew.” He said.

Samsung reportedly close to releasing Glass competitor — and Google’s involved

This one is definitely a rumor, but its source is reliable enough to warrant a little speculation. Analyst and blogger  Eldar Murtazin  tweeted a rather definite message this week that Samsung is “developing [its] own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around April – May under Gear Glass brand.” Given that Google’s own version of Glass is not expected to hit the mass market until early 2014, Samsung’s Glass competitor could very well race Google’s to market. That might seem like a nightmare for Google, which has invested heavily in Glass and is no doubt planning for a strong event launch, but as was pointed out in a CNet article, the use of the word “Glass” implies an official partnership. Samsung is known for its aggressive branding and Google would likely raise legal concerns regardless, so it’s unlikely the brand Gear Glass would be used without a partnership. Does Google even want to sell Glass, or does it just want you wearing face-screens? If Goog
