Villas-Boas blasts Ancelotti over Bale

Andre Villas-Boas has slammed Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, for publicly courting Gareth Bale.

The Tottenham manager was forced to answer questions about Bale’s future, after his side lost 5-2 to Monaco in a friendly played on Saturday.

The Welsh Winger did not travel with the squad, with negotiations ongoing for his move to Madrid.

Asked if Ancelotti had acted improperly, Villas-Boas said: “I think so, in my opinion.

“Carlo is a person I appreciate a lot and we have great respect for each other, but bearing in mind this situation they have decided to make it public.

“Normally in situations like this it is scrutinised by the Football Association with lots of care and attention. We have seen lots of people speak about a player that is not theirs and we are due some respect.

“These rumours of an imminent transfer are not true. The only thing we have communicated with Real Madrid is that he is our player and he is not for sale.

“Gareth is a guy I really like. We are talking with Real Madrid because there is respect between the two clubs following the transfer last season of Luka Modric.

“We are building a great team for next season. We envisage the future with Gareth. But we know that in football anything is possible.”

Samsung reportedly close to releasing Glass competitor — and Google’s involved

This one is definitely a rumor, but its source is reliable enough to warrant a little speculation. Analyst and blogger Eldar Murtazin tweeted a rather definite message this week that Samsung is “developing [its] own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around April – May under Gear Glass brand.” Given that Google’s own version of Glass is not expected to hit the mass market until early 2014, Samsung’s Glass competitor could very well race Google’s to market. That might seem like a nightmare for Google, which has invested heavily in Glass and is no doubt planning for a strong event launch, but as was pointed out in a CNet article, the use of the word “Glass” implies an official partnership.
