Chartered by the United Grand Lodge of England. This was followed in the year 1896, by the establishment of MacDonald Lodge # 173 I.C. Warranted under the Grand Lodge of Ireland. Followed in the year 1913,by the consecration of Lodge Academic # 1107 S.C. by the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Thereafter a host of other Lodges folowed to present day. The founders of these pioneer Lodges were mainly colonial administrators and missionaries (clergy).
