Former "Baseball Wives" star Anna Benson -- the estranged wife of ex-pitcher Kris Benson -- was arrested this morning in Georgia ... after allegedly raiding Kris' apartment with a gun and a metal baton, all while wearing a bulletproof vest.According to law enforcement, Kris -- who filed for divorce last year -- reported that Anna showed up in a rage last night after being forced by the court to vacate their marital home. Kris says Anna arrived and immediately whipped out an "expandable metal baton," threatening to hit him.But it didn't stop there ... Kris told police Anna then pulled out a handgun and demanded money. She must have been expecting Kris to pull a gun on her too ... because she was allegedly wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the alleged assault.According to the police report, Kris told Anna he would get her the money following the altercation ... but then left the home and called police instead.Anna -- a former FHM model -- was arrested

MLB hasn't returned our source calls to confirm 50 was cut as a direct result of the domestic violence charges.50's people haven't gotten back to us either.

Yesterday, Imam Muhammadu Marwana, an influential member of the Boko Haram sect, confirmed a ceasefire agreement with the Federal Government to end their deadly activities.   Vanguard reports that sounding apologetic during the Radio France Hausa Service news, Imam Marwana said: WE are seeking forgiveness from the people over the number of people killed in the country.  I appeal to those who lost their loved ones to our activities to forgive us and on our side we have forgiven all those who committed atrocities against us. One week after university lecturers across Nigeria commenced an indefinite strike the Federal Government said it is taking steps to resolve the contending issues. The Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufa'I, on Monday also appealed to the lecturers, members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to suspend the strike and "go back to classes". Ms. Rufa'I, who made the appeal at a meeting with vice-chancellors of Nigerian universities in Abuja, said: "we plead with them to go back to classes. "We are having a meeting tomorrow at the National Assembly with the Senate and House of Representatives to resolve all the issues. "Besides, the white paper on the 2010 Visitation Panel Reports on Federal Universities has since been released and forwarded to the universities for implementation. A 34-year-old man, Arogundade Ahmed, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly flogging his son to death. According to eyewitnesses, Arogundade tortured his 13-year-old son, Qudus, to death because Qudus broke into someone's house and attempted to steal. Arogundade was said to have killed his son in the presence of his little sister, Sherifat. This is delightful news. Two Nigerians have won the prestigious Caine Prize for African Writing two years in a row.  Last year, Nigerian writer, Rotimi Babatunde, won the prize for his story Bombay's Republic - a book about Nigerian soldiers who fought in the Burma campaign during World War II. And this year, another Nigerian has won. His name is Tope Folarin, a US-based writer. He won the prize for his story - Miracle - a short story set in an evangelical Nigerian church in Texas.  Tope, who was shortlisted with three other Nigerians and a Sierra Leonean for the prize, received $15,000 at an event that held at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.  Read the shortlisted stories here! A 22-Year Old student has been arrested by the police for allegedly offering his 21-year-old girlfriend for sale at GH₵8, 000 for ‘’money ritual". Samuel Dadson, a resident of Kumasi, was said to have lured his girlfriend to Accra for a business transaction, but was arrested by the police who were waiting for him at VIP bus terminal. Briefing the media in Accra yesterday, the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno said in June last year, Dadson met a taxi driver in Accra and through conversation, he expressed the desire for someone to assist him get rich through money rituals, ‘Sakawa’. The money was transferred to OJB's account on Friday July 5th.
